I. General Terms
1.1 The MaiBot Project (including MaiBot's source code, executable files, documentation, and other files listed in this Agreement) (hereinafter referred to as "this Project") is a robot code project jointly maintained by developers and contributors (hereinafter referred to as the "Project Team") to provide users with an automatic reply function. The following End User License Agreement (EULA, hereinafter referred to as "this Agreement") constitutes the contractual terms between the user (hereinafter referred to as "you") and the Project Team regarding the use of this Project.
1.2 Before running or using this Project, you must read and agree to all terms of this Agreement. Minors or other persons with no or limited civil capacity must read and agree to this Agreement under the supervision of a guardian. If you do not agree, you must not run or use this Project. In such a case, you should immediately uninstall or delete this Project and all its copies from your device.
II. License Grant
Source Code License
2.1 You understand that, except for parts of this Project's subdirectories, third-party components, or accompanying files that have separate license statements, the main program source code of this Project is released under the GPLv3 (GNU General Public License Version 3) open-source license. You are free to use, modify, and distribute the corresponding source code, but must comply with the requirements of the corresponding open-source license. For details, please refer to the LICENSE file in the project repository, LICENSE files in relevant subdirectories, and other license declaration files.
2.2 You understand that this Project may contain independent sub-projects, third-party open-source code, or code incorporated into this Project with additional authorization; the licenses for these contents may differ from the GPLv3 license or have specific scopes of application. You agree to comply with the corresponding license requirements when using, modifying, or distributing these contents.
Input and Output Content Authorization
2.3 You understand that this Project is a robot project that constructs requests using your configuration information, submitted commands (hereinafter referred to as "input content") and generated content (hereinafter referred to as "output content") to send to third parties to generate replies. 2.4 You authorize this Project to use your input and output content in accordance with the Project's privacy policy for the following purposes:
- Calling third-party APIs to generate replies;
- Calling third-party APIs to build a knowledge base and memory bank specifically for this Project, stored in the database you use;
- Calling plugin system functions developed by third parties;
- Collecting and recording logs specifically for this Project, stored on the device you use;
- When telemetry is enabled, sending limited operational status and usage statistics to the Project Team's telemetry service for version distribution, stability analysis, capacity planning, and feature improvement. The specific scope, disablement method, retention period, and processing rules of telemetry data are subject to this Project's privacy terms.
2.5 You understand that the source code of this Project contains code for calling third-party APIs, and the use of these APIs may be subject to the third party's terms of service and privacy policy. When using these APIs, you must comply with the corresponding terms of service.
2.6 The Project Team is not responsible for the service quality, stability, accuracy, or security of third-party APIs, nor is it responsible for service changes, terminations, restrictions, or other actions by third-party APIs.
III. User Conduct
3.1 You understand that this Project will send your configuration information, input commands, and generated content to third parties. You should not include the following content in input commands and generated content:
- Data involving any state or regional secrets, trade secrets, or other data that may have adverse effects on state or regional security or public interest;
- Data involving personal privacy, personal information, or other sensitive information;
- Any content that infringes upon the legitimate rights and interests of others;
- Any content that violates national or regional laws, regulations, or policy provisions;
3.2 You should not use this Project for the following purposes:
- Acts that violate any national or regional laws, regulations, or policy provisions;
3.3 You shall ensure on your own the legality and compliance of the input and output content stored in this Project's knowledge base, memory bank, and logs, as well as the legality and compliance of the storage behavior. You shall bear any legal liability arising therefrom.
3.4 Regarding the use of third-party plugins, you should not:
- Install or use any third-party plugins from unknown or unverified sources;
- Use any third-party plugins that violate laws, regulations, policy provisions, or third-party platform rules;
3.5 You shall ensure on your own the legality and compliance of the third-party plugins you install and use, as well as the legality and compliance of the installation and usage behavior. You shall bear any legal liability arising therefrom.
3.6 Since this Project will send your input commands and generated content to third parties, when you use this Project in third-party communication environments (such as private chats with people other than yourself, group chats, forums, live streaming, etc.), you shall inform other communication participants of the use of this Project in advance, including but not limited to:
- The output content of this Project is generated by artificial intelligence;
- This Project will send communication content to third parties;
- The privacy policy and user conduct requirements of this Project;
You shall bear any consequences and legal liability arising therefrom.
3.7 The Project Team does not encourage and does not support using this Project for commercial purposes, but if you indeed need to use this Project for commercial purposes, you shall indicate the project address (e.g., "This Project is powered by MaiBot (https://github.com/Mai-with-u/MaiBot)"), and shall bear any legal liability arising therefrom.
IV. Disclaimer
4.1 The output content of this Project relies on third-party APIs, is not controlled by the Project Team, and does not represent the views of the Project Team.
4.2 Except for the privacy policy mentioned in Article 2.4 of this Agreement, the Project Team will not provide any form of warranty to you, nor is it responsible for any direct or indirect consequences caused by the use of this Project.
4.3 Regarding third-party plugins, the Project Team declares:
- The Project Team does not provide any form of warranty or guarantee regarding the functionality, security, stability, compliance, or applicability of any third-party plugins;
- The Project Team is not liable for any direct or indirect consequences arising from the use of third-party plugins;
- The Project Team is not responsible for quality issues, technical support, bug fixes, or other matters related to third-party plugins. For any related issues, you should contact the plugin developer directly;
V. Other Terms
5.1 The Project Team has the right to modify the terms of this Agreement at any time, but has no obligation to notify you. The modified agreement will be pushed in new versions of this Project. You should regularly check the latest version of this Agreement.
5.2 The Project Team reserves the final right of interpretation of this Agreement.

I. Risk Warnings
Appendix 1.1 Privacy and Security Risks
- This Project will send your configuration information, input commands, and generated content to third-party APIs, and the service quality, stability, accuracy, and security of these APIs are not controlled by the Project Team.
- This Project will collect your input and output content to build a knowledge base and memory bank specifically for this Project to improve the accuracy and coherence of replies.
Therefore, to protect the security of your privacy information, please note the following:
- Avoid using this Project in environments involving personal privacy, personal information, or other sensitive information;
- Avoid using this Project in untrusted environments;
Appendix 1.2 Mental Health Risks
This Project is merely a tool-type robot and does not possess emotional interaction capabilities. It is recommended that users:
- Avoid over-relying on AI replies to handle real-world problems or emotional distress;
- If you feel psychological discomfort, please seek professional psychological counseling services in a timely manner;
- If you encounter psychological distress, please seek professional help (National Psychological Assistance Hotline: 12355);
Appendix 1.3 Third-Party Plugin Risks
The plugin system of this Project allows loading plugins developed by third parties, which may bring the following risks:
- Security Risks: Third-party plugins may contain malicious code, security vulnerabilities, or unknown security threats;
- Stability Risks: Plugins may cause system crashes, performance degradation, or functional anomalies;
- Privacy Risks: Plugins may collect, transmit, or leak your personal information and data;
- Compliance Risks: The functionality or behavior of plugins may violate relevant laws, regulations, or platform rules;
- Compatibility Risks: Plugins may conflict with the main program or other plugins;
Therefore, when using third-party plugins, please务必:
- Obtain and install plugins only from trusted sources;
- Carefully understand the plugin's functionality, permissions, and developer information before installation;
- Regularly check and update installed plugins;
- If abnormal plugin behavior is detected, immediately stop using and uninstall the plugin;
II. Others
Appendix 2.1 Dispute Resolution
- This Agreement is governed by the laws of China, and disputes shall be submitted to the jurisdiction of the relevant local courts;
- If disputes arise from the GPLv3 license, the official interpretation of the license shall prevail.
